Posted by The Jaded Tech September - 19 - 2005 - Monday ADD COMMENTS

Binary Guy will be a franchise available to the open public for applications within a month or so.

Once all the paperwork is done, I’ll be posting up for those who are interested in applying for a franchise.

Details will follow but if you are looking for a techie business, keep an eye out on local franchise shows that I’ll soon be attending.

Any other info, please feel free to e-mail me.

Business is booming

Well, this is going swell. That was typed in the truest sense of the word.

So my current work contract was extended 1 month. No biggie, I had been planning on doing Binary Guy full time any ways. Seems my prayers are being answered.

Here are the 4 things that have popped up:

1/ Out of the blue, I get a call from Tilsonburg (about 2hrs from me) asking if I can take care of a customer of theirs that had moved to Mississauga. Sure! While this may seem minor, let me elaborate.

When my work contract was extened one month, I asked for two things. The first beign that it be done under my business (they refused) and the second that I only work mon-thur (they agreed). So here it was, a friday and I get this call. What are the odds that I would get a call on the only day off I had specifically for my business? Pretty slim, just another indication I was on the right track. So I did the work, the company I helped was great, bought me lunch and was very pleased that I had their problem fixed in 45mins. I spent a total of 2 hrs there just talking with them about various things and learned some of their business. It was a great way to make a quick buck and boost my business reputation :)

2/ Again, out of the blue a friend of mine e-mails me a job opportunity in another city. I am fully qualified and it is basically what I was planning on doing with Binary guy, going around to various facility fixing problems. The pay listed was pretty damned good. I figure I’d apply and when it works out, I’ll just keep Binary Guy part-time and develop the franchise idea more.

3/ So last Sunday I’m at a friend’s place, he tells me that his company (currently sub-contracted by Toyota) is looking for someone to do some Tier 1 tech support for Toyota because noone else wants it. I say yes, submit some rough proposal rates from my business. Again, got a nice ‘in’ for working for a very large corporation under my business.

4/ A friend of mine e-mails me asking if I would be interested in simply making an invoice for some data recovery on a HD that a business he knows and they want an invoice for business expense. He offers a ‘good chunk’ of the amount he charges them, again I say yes.

Who knows what else will be coming down the pipeline. Seems that opportunities are endless!

BTW, if you happen to need some computer work, I’ve got a line on a guy who just so happens to be reeeeeal good at it :)

About us

Having been active around technology for almost 30 years, and seeing many people failing to grasp both it’s importance as well as it’s basic usage, I decided it was high-time to show the world how idiotic they can be. People simply need to have a bigger vision of the tools that have been given to them.
