Worms, virus and chaos….OH MY!

Yes it is true, there is a new worm that is slated to hit ‘hundreds of thousands’ PCs this friday. I just got a call from my accountant who was greatly concerned over this.

I actually hadn’t heard of this until her call. A quick check and yup, that’s what the report said.

So, a few more clicks and basically if you’ve opened pretty much ‘any type of attachment’ from someone you didn’t know, then expect to get hit.

The extent of problems, to which you will receive, is unclear but I heard “it will wip out your whole hard drive…”. Well, I have yet to see a worm that has done that. Lots of talk, lots of hype, someone’s drive will crash because of a mechanical problem and they’ll blame it on the worm.

To be honest, if you are not updating your anti-virus program on a REGULAR basis, then you are just asking for trouble. By regular, I mean every 3-4 DAYS!

“But I don’t know anything about that stuff?”

“My internet provider gives me anti-virus protection.”

Well, excuses like that will simply get you into trouble. I will make it very clear, and very easy for you to protect your system in 3 simple steps.

1/ Install AVG. (Click on ‘AVG’, then scroll down on page for link to program).
2/ Setup DAILY scanning of your hard drive.
3/ Setup DAILY update checks!

If you have any questions, e-mail me or reply here.

If you get a virus, be prepared to loose data (at worst) or pay someone to fix it (at best).

I have a mission to teach people to be prepared for such times, but there are a lot who simply aren’t even aware that they need to.

About us

Having been active around technology for almost 30 years, and seeing many people failing to grasp both it’s importance as well as it’s basic usage, I decided it was high-time to show the world how idiotic they can be. People simply need to have a bigger vision of the tools that have been given to them.
