I am in information junkie. I collect way too much digital stuff. I find things in the farthest corner of the internet and go ‘damn that’s cool’. I find things so obscure I almost want to keep them that way. It’s kinda like opening King Tut’s tomb and you are the only one there. It’s so ancient and so awe-inspiring that you don’t want to ruin it but exposing it to the light of day and modern society to ruin by making it into a fad.
So, what does one really do when they find a super hi-resolution, scanned image of a Canadian $50 bill on some server in the middle east? What should I do with the almost 3500 bookmarks? What about the time I printed this image out 20 times on some company’s printer that was open to the internet because it was a good laugh?
Lately I have come to the realization that all of it will be lost if noone knows about it. Now, I won’t go all spiritual and talk about the collective sub-conscious or even the Hall of Mirrors, but I just think that all of it needed to be shared.
So i’ll be going through my collection of ‘random things that are mostly tech-related’ and making sure they are properly shared in the coming days.
I still surprise myself at what I can find.
As a teaser, how about probably the biggest hater of 2600? There’s a ton of information there. To me, he says he hates them all but does he really? It’s almost like he’s the biggest underground promoter because he puts so much of their information and links. Seriously, if I hated someone, I wouldn’t be linking so that everyone can download every Off The Hook show ever produced?! That’s seems pretty promotional to me. Why, because there isn’t a charge to DL them! You can even listen to their podcasts for free on iTune(yeah, 2600 is soooooo anti-corporate that they use Apple to promote their message?? Call me confused on that one.)
That’s all for now. Enjoy1
