The techie voice of frustration

You don’t “own” a copy of windows you fool!

It always amazes me how people believe they ‘own a copy of windows’.  You don’t….and never did.  Allow me to quote Microsoft directly:

The software is licensed, not sold. This agreement only gives you some rights to use the software. Microsoft reserves all other rights. Unless applicable law gives you more rights despite this limitation, you may use the software only as expressly permitted in this agreement. In doing so, you must comply with any technical limitations in the software that only allow you to use it in certain ways.

This is how companies have been making money for years.  You don’t own a damn thing and have zero rights.  You can read this nice little article that blasts Vista but really Windows 7 is only an upgrade…..and do you really think they made it easier on DRM?  Ha!

So keep on enjoying being screwed by false beliefs.  I’ll stick with ‘open source’ where noone owns it and never has to ever pay for any ‘upgrades’….ever.

This is a bad economy?????

So let me get this straight….the economy is bad, jobs are scarce, people are loosing houses and bailouts are a common everyday word. So tell me, how does the following fit in???

IBM makes a record $13.4B

New York Times quarterly profit surges

Apple Posts Record Profits, Sales for Holiday Quarter

Microsoft Q2 profit surges to $6.66B

So, in about 14-20 years (when this down economy happens yet again….) I’ll be damned sure my money is in the tech business somewhere!

Let’s hear it for the underdogs of Freedom Warfare!  Go TPB!!!

About us

Having been active around technology for almost 30 years, and seeing many people failing to grasp both it’s importance as well as it’s basic usage, I decided it was high-time to show the world how idiotic they can be. People simply need to have a bigger vision of the tools that have been given to them.
